Case Study – System Upgrade and modernization of Dealer Management System
Customer was looking to do away with multiple discreet systems , 3rd party applications and legacy system and implement a comprehensive modern solution. The solution was to be scalable and easy to maintain mobile app along with the portal for different teams to perform the tasks on the go The new system was to have ML, enhanced dashboard, chat bot feature, ability to integrate with other app in the landscape The system was to be robust and secure with authorization layer to prevent unwarranted access.
Yogiti provided comprehensive testing solutions that was tailor-made to suit the specific needs of modernization programs. We strategized the testing to cover all aspects of application including Functional and Non-Functional (Performance + Security) validation, to ensure the application coverage beyond the functional validation below was integrated in test strategy:
- API automation using Mocha Framework and Chai assertion
- Two Automation framework one for CI/CD and one for Regression testing covering both positive and negative scenarios
- Performance scripting and execution using JMeter to ensure that the Non Functional requirements are met
- Security testing using burp suite with detailed list of vulnerability
Accomplishments
Client was able to go-live for such a large modernization program based on the confidence with a thorough testing, our solution provided validation at each layer (API, Web, Backend, DB) along with Non-Functional aspect of the application on various browsers & devices. Some of the test cycle features which added value by reducing time/cost of the testing are:
- API testing manual/automated led to early defect detection
- Automation scripts run in CI/CD pipeline for automated health checks
- Security testing using Burp Suite for authorization services module post each phase. VAPT was conducted across application covering OWSAR top 10 consideration
- Comprehensive Performance testing for application under load, stress and spike was done to set benchmarks
- Risk based regression suite created for standard release
- Mocha Framework implemented with Chai assertion for quick automation
